Printing Process:

Digital Direct To Garment printing is technique where a digital image is printed directly onto textiles and garments. Think of it like a giant inkjet printer, but for garments.

The process makes use of eco-friendly natural water-based inks.

DTG printing gives a vibrant image with good durability and washability.
The inks absorb into the garment, making it less prone to cracking, stretching and fading.

Manufacturing:

All the products are made through a vertically integrated manufacturing process at Vic Bay factories in George, Western Cape and Lesotho.

The production process consists of several manufacturing operations which cover the full spectrum of textiles and clothing production, i.e. yarn spinning, fabric knitting, fabric dyeing, cutting, assembly and finishing of garments. Controlling each of the manufacturing processes has enabled the manufacturer to control its destiny in critical areas such as product quality and product availability.

The manufacturers are committed to creating value and sustainability throughout our manufacturing process.
From the sourcing of the finest cotton, to the delivery of the garments, they constantly monitor and improve the processes that enhance the Southern African value chain.

Fabric:

Vic Bay source cotton from various countries in the Southern African Development Community (SADC).
So the cotton is 100% South African, however, sometimes they source from neighboring countries.

The 100% cotton yarn is subjected to stringent tests to ensure the highest quality open-end yarn.

The fabric is dyed to international colour fastness and performance benchmarks to ensure stability.

Their state-of-the-art Bierrebi automatic cutting machines are used to ensure fast and accurate cutting of garments as well as minimum fabric wastage

At their MT (make trim) operation in Lesotho, garments are manufactured according to the highest standards.
